Conquering your Anxiety Issues
Conquering your Anxiety Issues
Anxiety is a response to a threat. If it's continuous and causes you to function less well, it needs attention. Anxiety can be too severe, can occur too often, can last too long and/or be too readily triggered.
I'll introduce you to the five common DSM-5 TR anxiety disorders of: Panic problems (state of physical and psychological terror that is short-lived but recurrent), Phobias (persistent, unreasonable fears of everyday objects, acts and contexts), Social Anxiety (fears about social contacts or performances when judgments are made), Generalized Anxiety (excessive worries about two or more everyday activities or events that result in physical fatigue) and Agoraphobia (fear of public places or situations where escape is difficult) as well as what therapies (cognitive-behavioral, sociocultural, humanistic, biological and psychodynamic) will help you get control of them. You'll also have a chance to apply and analyze some real-world cases.
After that, we'll cover the anxiety-related disorders of obsessive-compulsive disorder, hoarding, hair pulling and body dysmorphic disorder. I will also describe the best psychotherapies for relief.
Towards the end of the course, you can review the key concepts you've learned and check your learning. By the end of the course, you'll be able to spot anxiety symptoms easily and also know what the best therapies are for bringing relief to those whose lives are dominated by their psychological states.
