Principle of Chemical Processes (Two Semester Combined)

Principle of Chemical Processes (Two Semester Combined)

Principle of Chemical Processes (PCP) is the fundamental course for Chemical Engineering students for other subjects such as Thermodynamics, Separation Processes, Heat Transfer and Fluid Transport. Basically, the whole Chemical engineer career is based on Principle of Chemical Processes. This course integrates chemistry(general chemistry, some organic chemistry, and physical chemistry), physics, maths (mostly simple algebra, some calculus).

This course is highly cumulative. The best way to do well in this course is (1) read the textbook carefully, and understand the definitions for the terms, then try explain in your own words. The book is edited in formally written languages which make it hard for students to understand. So it's important to explain in our own words so that we can understand better. (2) Read each examples carefully and ask questions. The textbook sometimes used different methods than the methods taught in the class, as each professor has different way of teaching. (3)practice, practice and practice! This course is highly cumulative. It's important to do many practice problems, and make sure to follow procedure when solving problems, especially process problems.

Free preview on chapter 1 and chapter 7 are available for you to watch.
