Photo To Painting A Landscape In Oil - Contemplation

Welcome to this class in which I'll be painting a sunset scene based on a photograph. I'll be doing this complete exercise in a step by step manner and explain my thinking all along the way.

My name is Mandar, a fine artist and a sculptor. I'll be leading you through this course.

First I'll go through the 12 considerations that I make when I decide what to paint and compose the picture. Then come the steps in which I do a value sketch, premix the colors and then go through the actual process of painting.

You'll love this journey from a photo to a painting. I've used oil colors for this painting but you can use gouache, acrylics or casein to paint in the manner I've shown.

Along the way you’ll learn compositional and painting skills which will benefit your artistic growth.

After you paint the landscape I have shown, use your own reference photos to compose scenes and paint those.
This will ensure that the new things you’ve learnt in this class become part of your process and improve your paintings
