Students will learn basic drawing and acrylic painting techniques and apply these techniques to complete each project. The Art for Beginners: Draw & Paint 8 Fearless Animals With Acrylic course is designed to give students the tools they need to begin their artistic journey into self-expression, reflection, and creative thinking.

Before each art lesson begins, students will be presented with a video that provides scientific facts and images about each animal. These facts and images will help students make important connections between art and science.

Supplies and materials needed for this course:

• heavy white paper

• paint (acrylic, tempera, or poster paints): black and white, plus your choice of colors

• paintbrushes (small, medium, and large flat paintbrushes)

• pencil with eraser

• paper towels

• palette (paper plates work great!)

• mat to cover work space
