Stained Glass on Stone
Stained Glass on Stone
This course teaches stained glass artists how to evolve your skillset by learning how to create stained glass art pieces, ON STONE! This means they're weatherproof and can be placed virtually anywhere, both indoor & outdoor.
Traditional stained-glass is great! But there are only so many windows... Plus, so many other places beg for the lasting & unique beauty that this art adds.
These art pieces are perfect for a:
Gardens
beside Ponds
as a Gift
Cottage
Doorstep/Porch
Yard/Lawn
However, they're also fantastic for places you might never have thought of, like:
Gravesites
Balconies
Holiday Decorations
Mantles
as Prizes
The entire process will take about 3 - 6 hours of crafting, and a total of 5+ days with waiting time (for drying/sealing).
What you will need:
Sturdy Table
Stained glass (colors for your design)
Safety glasses
Appropriate clothing
Groving pliers
Glass cutter
Glass grinder
Tile adhesive and applicator (popsicle stick)
Grout, disposable cup, and applicator spoon (popsicle stick)
Rag/cloth/towel
Metal pick or utility knife
Grout sealer
Acetone
Water (for grinder, grout and cleaning)
Stone (Any type, with a shape that fits your design)
Obviously, you will be working with glass, so there will always be a risk of being cut. Make sure to be very careful, take safety precautions like wearing safety glasses & using gloves at times.
If you're a beginner you can still take this course, as long as you're up for a fun challenge and don't mind accessing a glass cutter & grinder from your local art shop, or a friend.
