Maiden's Circle: A History of Witches
Maiden's Circle: A History of Witches
This is the third preview lesson for the larger Maiden's Circle Covenpath course.
Maiden's Circle believes it's important to have a strong connection with the history of our chosen path. That includes looking at some of the darker events that have shaped what we know today as Wicca and much of the overall Pagan community.
In this lesson, we’ll look at society’s relationship with the Witch through the years. We’ll study the witch hunt hysteria in Europe and the United States, and discuss the importance of myths and their influence on modern society.
We’ll delve deeper into the origins of religion in major world locations such as Africa, Europe, and Asia. This lesson asks us to think deeply about the origins of our practice and those who came before us, including those who practiced an entirely different faith, yet still suffered the punishments of hatred.
This lesson is a brief sneak-peek at an upcoming year-long course with 12 or 13 (depending on which path you choose) thorough, deeply immersive lessons. The full course will be launched via the Maiden's Circle website, but all are welcome to take each lesson individually here! Those who wish it will soon be able to take these lessons as part of their journey to becoming full-fledged members of Maiden's Circle Coven! We look forward to having you join us!
Blessed be.
