Crash course: Technical Analysis, Price Action Strategy!

What is price action? Price action can be seen and interpreted using charts that plot prices over time. Traders use different chart compositions to improve their ability to spot and interpret trends, breakouts and reversals. Many traders use candlestick charts since they help better visualize price movements by displaying the open, high, low and close values in the context of up or down sessions. Next to the typical candestick charts we will be using the line charts as well! 

The backbone of our technical analysis course; the price action strategy. This strategy course focusses on recent and past price movements of a certain asset. This strategy ignores the traditional fundamental analysis in which traders try to understand and assert the market based on data related to the current economic environment (which entails endless factors to take into account!).

This price action strategy, however, takes a more concrete approach in which we focus on the technical analysis rather than the fundamental one. This entails studying the charts of historical price series combined with historical market information to make statements about possible future prices. In essence, it is a probability model based on statistics in which we look for the most probable way for the price to go, based on previous data.

This price action strategy is one of the best ways to get an edge on today's market and gives you a good insight on the psychological way of reading chart patterns gives you a good edge in the market.
