Filmmaking is a tricky proposal and documentary filmmaking is no exception. In documentary, a major hurdle to overcome is getting your project up and running. All too often filmmakers will dive into a project with a concept that lacks crucial storytelling elements and without the technical and strategic preparation needed for a sustainable production. With documentary, oftentimes, with no script to follow, you must have a solid concept that you are sure will yield entertaining, informative results. To do this, you need to stack the deck in your favor so you will be sure at the outset that your concept has the elements in place to succeed. That is what this course is designed to do.
