Bo Staff (Bong) Techniques for Tang Soo Do - Level 1

Learn the essential basic bo staff (bong in Korean) techniques and drills in Level 1 of this 3 level course.  Stationary and moving techniques utilizing various grip configurations are covered.  The Level 1 course is broken down into seven lessons.  Each lesson is only 15-20 minutes long.  The lessons are easy to follow along with the instructor. 

The Tang Soo Do Staff Course is intended for kids and adults who practice martial arts. The course is a great activity for families to do together. You will need a 4-6 ft. staff to take this course.

The Level 1 and Level 2 courses do not require a training partner.  However, the Level 3 course does a lot of sparring techniques that will require a partner (a solo version will also be taught for those who are unable to find a suitable training partner).

Tang Soo Do is not a weapons heavy martial art style however some weapons such as staff and sword are taught.  Typically this is very limited.  One of the goals of this course is to provide students with a broader understanding of the staff in order to be more effective with it for Tang Soo Do training.  This course covers all the same areas that are taught empty handed to give students a complete experience.

This course will help students become familiar with the staff as well as provide the foundation for forms and sparring which are done in future levels.  Course is taught by Master Steven Elmore, 5th Dan in Tang Soo Do who has taught several Regional and World Champion Tang Soo Do fighters.
