Introduction to the psychology of deception
Introduction to the psychology of deception
In this short introductory course I give a brief overview about how certain types of interview techniques can help those who are telling the truth to recall more information as well as making it easier to tell when someone is lying. I have also included a section which examines how body language can help us to spot a liar. The psychology of deception is a vast area of research with many complexities. The aim of this introductory course is to introduce you to some of the psychological factors that are of most use in identifying deception.
I have created this short course to give you some insights into how we can tell when someone is lying. This short course covers some of the myths that we all have about how liars behave. Once we know what the popular myths are, we can focus all of our attention on the correct clues.
I have included workbooks on each module so you can take notes if you want to. There’s also multiple choice questions under each video module for you can check your knowledge as you go. There are links to suggested further reading and sample essay questions you can have a go at.
