How Many Questions in the 2022 New PMP® Exam?

The new PMP exam contains 180 questions to be answered in 230 minutes. Thus, you get 1.3 minutes per question.

You can take these tests multiple times till you hit 100% - this way you incrementally learn as well as practice mastering the PMP exam.

Here is How to Get the Most Out of this Simulator!

As you may know already, PMI does not share any information about exam score logic, passing marks, and so on, except for the fact that psychometric analysis is used to score the test.

Thus, you will need to score 80% to pass this simulator test - keeping in mind the general thumb rule to ascertain preparedness for the actual PMP exam.

Please bear in mind that the result of this simulator does by no means guarantee success on the PMP exam.

What if you scored less than 80% on these tests?

Do not worry, this would be your opportunity to identify weak areas and prepare better - a stepping stone to your PMP success.

The best way to make the most value out of this simulator is to spend at least as much time as you spent taking the test to go over the answers, especially the incorrect ones, and analyze the answers. I have given the specific reference of correct answers, so you can go and fill your knowledge gaps for the actual exam!

From my years of experience teaching and coaching PMP® students, I can tell you that this way of learning is one of the most effective ways of preparing for the PMP® exam.

Why?

Because there is no strict boundary for PMP study! PMI gives tons of reference books - with plenty of overlap between them. Studying every single one of them is quite impractical, so the next best thing is to take simulator tests and learn from incorrect answers.

How to Ensure 100% Success, Incrementally?

Here are some of the questions you can ask yourself whenever you answer a question incorrectly -

1. Did I give myself time to read the question properly (verbose questions can push you to hurry through them)

2. Did I understand what is really asked in the question (some questions give unnecessary information upfront, thereby misleading you, we call these 'red herring' type of questions)

3. Did I read through all the given options even when I thought I have identified the right answer (sometimes we tend to move to the next question when one of the first few options seems like the right answer. But PMI says 'choose the BEST option' - so it is important to go over all the given options)

4. Once I selected one of the options as the answer, did I compare it with the rest of the options to ensure this is indeed the BEST option?

Here are some of the questions you can ask yourself after taking a simulator test -

1. Which topics did I have trouble with?

2. And thus, which Knowledge Area(s) I need to focus more on?

3. Did I manage time properly to answer 180 questions in 230 minutes? (on average you get 1 minute 15 seconds per question!)

4. Did I have enough time to cross-check answers that I wasn't sure of?

Once you get into the habit of doing this, not just in this simulator but every PMP simulator exam that you take, you will find a dramatic increase in your ability to answer each question with 100% accuracy.
