PMP Exam Simulator PMI New Format 2022 (With Agile & Hybrid)

PMP Exam Simulator PMI New Format 2022 (With Agile & Hybrid)

Every Tuesday, I publish the interview of a successful PMP® certified professional on my blog. I ask them about their exam approach, strategies, study tips & techniques, and valuable insights. These help PMP aspirants discover what works and what does not.

One of the common 'success strategies' uncovered from these 329+ interviews is: they all used PMP exam simulator to supercharge their exam preparation.

While learning the exam content aligned with PMI's 'PMP Exam Content Outline' is essential, what matters more is how you apply that knowledge to solve the questions on the exam.

Also, given that you get just 1 minute 15 seconds per question on your PMP exam, doing this repeatedly 180 times consistently is critical.

Discover Your Study Gaps and Manage Time on the PMP® Exam with this Simulator

With this PMP exam simulator, you will be able to,

  • Understand how to apply any PMP concept to a question and answer it correctly on the exam

  • Solve Agile, Hybrid, and Predictive approach based questions

  • Learn how to manage time on the exam optimally, so you answer more questions in less time

  • Practice new exam question types by PMI and answer them quickly

  • Identify gaps in your PMP knowledge, and strengthen those weak areas/topics

  • Learn missing bits of PMP content when you answer a question incorrectly and discover the right answer by reading the explanation.

These learning bits, especially as your exam approaches, help you cover knowledge gaps and prepare at your best possible level.

How Many Questions in the 2022 New PMP® Exam?

The new PMP exam contains 180 questions to be answered in 230 minutes. Thus, you get 1.3 minutes per question.

This is important for you to understand, so you can practice time management as well on the Simulator.

Top Benefits You Get from this Simulator -

These PMP exam sample questions are created by me based on 15+ years of project management experience, my own PMP exam preparation experience, and past 8+ years of experience of training and coaching over 5246+ PMP students globally.

I have included a variety of questions in this simulator (including situational questions), created based on the latest 'PMP Exam Content Outline' (ECO document) by PMI.

In this simulator, you will also find new PMP question types introduced in the exam, such as matching the left and right side options, multiple answer options per question, and fill-in-the-blank questions.

The different question types, as well as categories, will help you improve your ability to answer questions on the exam with confidence.

In this PMP exam simulator (460 questions in all across 12 tests) you will get,

  • New PMP exam syllabus based 2 full-length practice tests (360 questions) - AGILE, HYBRID, and PREDICTIVE

  • New PMP exam syllabus based Bonus practice tests: 10 questions each from 10 Knowledge Areas (100 questions)

  • Explanation of answer for each question with link to actual PMI's suggested references for more in-depth study

  • Timed tests to practice time management on the exam

The full-length tests adhere to PMI's PMP exam question distribution (slice and dice) pattern, which is -

  • Questions distributed across 2 categories: 50% questions on 'Predictive' project management approach, and 50% on 'Agile/Hybrid' approach

  • Also distributed across 3 domains: 50% questions from 'Process', 42% questions from 'People', and 8% questions from 'Business Environment'

Thus, each question belongs to one of the Predictive or Agile/Hybrid categories, AND one of the Process, People, or Business Environment domains - making the test a close representative of the PMP exam.

These questions are based on the reference books prescribed by PMI for the PMP exam (including PMBOK and Agile Practice Guide) - covering topics of Predictive and Agile/Hybrid project management approaches. The answer explanation also gives you the exact resource references in case you wish to study even further on the topic.

You can take these tests multiple times till you hit 100% - this way you incrementally learn as well as practice mastering the PMP exam.

Here is How to Get the Most Out of this Simulator!

As you may know already, PMI does not share any information about exam score logic, passing marks, and so on, except for the fact that psychometric analysis is used to score the test.

Thus, you will need to score 80% to pass this simulator test - keeping in mind the general thumb rule to ascertain preparedness for the actual PMP exam.

Please bear in mind that the result of this simulator does by no means guarantee success on the PMP exam.

What if you scored less than 80% on these tests?

Do not worry, this would be your opportunity to identify weak areas and prepare better - a stepping stone to your PMP success.

The best way to make the most value out of this simulator is to spend at least as much time as you spent taking the test to go over the answers, especially the incorrect ones, and analyze the answers. I have given the specific reference of correct answers, so you can go and fill your knowledge gaps for the actual exam!

From my years of experience teaching and coaching PMP® students, I can tell you that this way of learning is one of the most effective ways of preparing for the PMP® exam.

Why?

Because there is no strict boundary for PMP study! PMI gives tons of reference books - with plenty of overlap between them. Studying every single one of them is quite impractical, so the next best thing is to take simulator tests and learn from incorrect answers.

How to Ensure 100% Success, Incrementally?

Here are some of the questions you can ask yourself whenever you answer a question incorrectly -

  1. Did I give myself time to read the question properly (verbose questions can push you to hurry through them)

  2. Did I understand what is really asked in the question (some questions give unnecessary information upfront, thereby misleading you, we call these 'red herring' type of questions)

  3. Did I read through all the given options even when I thought I have identified the right answer (sometimes we tend to move to the next question when one of the first few options seems like the right answer. But PMI says 'choose the BEST option' - so it is important to go over all the given options)

  4. Once I selected one of the options as the answer, did I compare it with the rest of the options to ensure this is indeed the BEST option?

Here are some of the questions you can ask yourself after taking a simulator test -

  1. Which topics did I have trouble with?

  2. And thus, which Knowledge Area(s) I need to focus more on?

  3. Did I manage time properly to answer 180 questions in 230 minutes? (on average you get 1 minute 15 seconds per question!)

  4. Did I have enough time to cross-check answers that I wasn't sure of?

Once you get into the habit of doing this, not just in this simulator but every PMP simulator exam that you take, you will find a dramatic increase in your ability to answer each question with 100% accuracy.

As they say, Practice Makes Perfect (another expansion for 'PMP', right? :-) )

It is my privilege to serve you in your quest for PMP, and I'd love to help with any questions you may have. Just drop them in the Student section.

You have lifetime access to this simulator, of course, and I recommend that you take these tests as soon as you can. This way you will learn the topics as well as practice for the real exam quickly.

I wish you all the best, and I'll see you in the course.

Cheers,

Shivshanker 'Shiv' Shenoy, PMP
