In Canada, the title “professional engineer” is restricted by law. When you hold a P.Eng., you are licensed to practice engineering in the province or territory where it was granted. Once acquired, you are an engineer and can take responsibility for the engineering work you do. The license also gives you the right to use the letters P.Eng. after your name.
