India became independent on 15th August 1947 .Many freedom  fighters laid their lives during this freedom struggle.Indian national congress under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi had already decided that a free India would have its own constitution.

India adopted its new constitution,its very own constitution after three years of democratic discussion and debate.

On 26th January 1950 this new constitution came into force and India became repubic.

Indian Constitution is considered to be one of the longest written constitution.

India the land of diverse languages,diverse religious beliefs and diverse cultural ethos is nevertheless bound together by a common legacy of freedom struggle which shaped it into a modern society and gave it a modern constitution.This course is specifically designed for all the young students who are interested in modern value system and democracy.This course will also be a good eye opener for those who want to understand the Indian society an its modern value system especially its democracy .
