This course is designed to enable you understand and be able to apply the principles, tools and techniques in quality management with the goal of ensuring continuous excellence in your business and operational processes. The course is sectioned into 6 parts - process improvement foundations, leadership excellence for the quality systems, root cause analysis, the lean enterprise, benchmarking and kaizen methodologies.


Process Improvement Foundations

The objective of management is to make improvements—not only to products and services but also to entire processes. The difficult thing is to know what requires improvement, and then whether you are able to effect positive change. In this course, you will learn some tools used for process improvement, such as statistical process control, the new quality tools etc. and how to use these tools to improve the three most critical aspects of your business process: time, quality, and cost. This section combines some concepts of Lean and Six Sigma into lessons that will help take the core of what your business does, measure it, and do it better.


Leadership Excellence for the Quality Systems

In this section, you will learn how to apply key principles, tools and techniques to manage your team with the goal of improving business and/or manufacturing processes. In the section, you are exposed to Deming's 14 points of quality & effective leadership, team decision-making tools and how to effectively communicate quality-related issues for success as a team leader and/or manager.


Root Cause Analysis

A root cause is the actual, underlying reason for a problem. This section helps you to identify the actual cause of a problem, solve it, and prevent it from occurring again, thereby saving your organization time, money, and resources. This section is developed to enable learners understand root cause analysis as a procedure for ascertaining and analyzing the causes of problems with a view to determining what can be done to solve or prevent them.


The Lean Enterprise

In this section, you will understand the benefits of lean and be able to apply the core principles of lean to systematically achieve incremental changes in processes in order to improve efficiency and quality.


Benchmarking

In this section, you will learn various systematic techniques for measuring and comparing processes, adopting and adapting organizational best practices to enhance continuous process improvement. At the end of this section, you will be able to describe the meaning, types and application of benchmarking techniques. You will gain thorough understanding of benchmarking sequences, methods and the benefits that you can gain from its implementation.


Kaizen Methodologies

Kaizen Approach is widely used by organizations with lean methodology to effect continuous improvement to organizational processes. In this section of the course, you will learn some basic kaizen principles, philosophy, action plans, and events that will enable you enact cultural change in your organizations through Kaizen principles.
