A Beginner's Guide to Handstand Development with MPC
Knowing how BEST to learn to handstand can be hard, just throwing yourself into it is not effective at all.
Often people will begin, become frustrated at the nuances and subsequently, quit, believing it to be too hard but... It doesn't have to be!
Take it one step at a time. Master what you've learnt, and then, progress to the next stage.
Handstands are a staple skill in calisthenics and gymnastics, we've taught calisthenics since 2013, let us help.
Here you will find content on:
Wrist Preparation
Crowstand
Stacking your body
Mobility
Strength
Handstand Drills
We spend our lives walking on our feet and so, inherently, the concept of balancing on the hands is hard.. to begin with.
Unless you are quite young (or fearless), often the first step is getting past the fear of falling. It is hard-wired in us to stop ourselves from being hurt, the fight or flight reflex can be hard to get past.
Work on your balance AND your fear of falling synonymously to fast track your progress. If strength is your crux, then we have videos here that will also help with the building of your shoulder strength.
We teach calisthenics, and have done so since 2013. Handstands are just ONE part of this. If you want to learn other skills such as the human flag, front lever, back lever, planche, elbow lever, handstand pushup, one arm pushup..... (I could go on) then calisthenics is the sport for you.
Maximum Potential Calisthenics offers both online AND in-person guidance to help you accomplish your goals. Google us to find out more.
Until then... let's get inverted!
Take it slow and methodical with this course & the handstand WILL be yours... then you can handstand around the world!
