Intro to XR Visualization for Architecture
Intro to XR Visualization for Architecture
Extended Reality (XR) can improve client communication, speed up your approvals process, and save time & money with real-time rendering. It's not surprising that XR is becoming increasingly popular for architectural visualization. With several types of headsets on the market and a growing number of software integrations, it's hard to know where to start.
This course is for architects with little to no experience with XR interested in understanding how to begin working with these valuable new technologies. We'll start by defining XR, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). We'll explore several possible paths to VR to identify the best fit for your current workflow. Paths include Twinmotion, Enscape, Unity, and Unreal. After spending some time talking about what makes a successful VR design, we will dive into client sharing. By the end of the course, you'll have a general understanding of your XR Visualization options and several resources to continue your learning journey.
About the instructor:
Lauren started drafting in CAD over 12 years ago for a small historic preservation architecture firm in New York City. After four years in architecture and no aspirations to become an architect, she found a new home in the Events Industry. Since then, she has been designing stages and environments for corporate events.
Lauren uses the latest visualization technology, including Virtual Reality (VR), to bring client visions to life. Though experienced in other visualization software, including Cinema 4D with V-Ray and advanced Vectorworks Rendering, she prefers the unique immersion VR provides. In 2017, Lauren founded Scenic Mentor, a free 3D & VR tutorial blog, to help other 3D CAD/BIM designers learn this valuable new tech.
Everything you need to know to get started bringing your designs into VR.
