Learn to play TANGO on the GUITAR
Argentinian Tango is one of the most complex musical genres that exist. A music of a very high degree of passion and intensity, where influences from diverse musical styles such as jazz, classical music and African-American music converge. The study of Tango on the guitar will make you grow artistically in various aspects such as technique, improvisation, knowledge of harmony, musical interpretation, timing, and more.
This Tango Course is divided in 2 modules and it’s meant for beginner/intermidiate to advanced guitar players.
It covers technical and musical aspects of the genre: rythmic and stylistic features, comping, getting the tango sound, lead parts, arrangements, playing solo, playing multiple part arrangements, and more.
It incluides exercises and arrangements of tango classics with plenty tabs and sheet music, alongside with references from the original records. All the resources are written in both TABS and SHEET MUSIC.
Module 1: Basics / Marcato
In this section we will learn the fundamental pieces of this musical genre. Its general idiomatic characteristics, accents, articulations, and how to play them on the guitar. We will also learn the most important comping scheme when playing chords in a Tango: the Marcato.
Module 2: Comping / Síncopa
In this section we will learn to make the rhythm much more complex using new and valuable resources: the syncopation, the arpeggios and the "3 + 3 + 2" rhythm.
Module 3:
In the final module we propose 2 tasks: Play 2 musical arrangements of 2 different songs. Each arrangement is made up of an accompaniment part and a melody part.
