How to play guitar for absolute beginners
How to play guitar for absolute beginners
The best way to learn guitar is to choose a guitar that feels comfortable and easy to hold. You will practice more if you love how your guitar feels as you play. The course begins simply with the parts of the guitar, the names of the strings, tuning, and technique—whether finger-style or pick. It then explores the basics of music theory with such topics as your beginner starting chords, light music theory, knowing the notes of the low E string and a technique on how to learn the rest of the notes on the guitar, power chords, and fingering and shapes. All the while you'll also learn to produce notes on the guitar, how to properly press down on the strings to hold them against the finger board (or fret board) in various positions. For the lessons, we'll take step by step instructions on the best fingering techniques for how to play each chord. Starting with what finger goes on what string and what fret each string needs to be pressed on. We'll then go note by note demonstrating how each note you're pressing down should sound and then playing the note as a whole. Along with learning your beginner chords, if it is applicable we'll also show how the same chord shape can be moved around to make new chords and sounds that can be used together to create some songs you hear today on the radio!
