This course is intended for anyone looking to start exploring parametric design and architecture. we focus on different aspects of grasshopper in each session to actually learn and start using the software while creating interesting geometries that make the learning process fun and engaging.
Parametric design is constantly growing in popularity. Not only architects but also other industries are increasingly using it – starting from jewelry, furniture, and ship designers and ending with the construction sector. We will start with the basics which won't require preparations or specialist knowledge.
Parametric Design answers these questions by learning and adapting the parametric way of designing. In this session, participants will learn how to approach designs parametrically, using a combination of geometric and mathematical tools inside Grasshopper 3D, that will bring their design ideas to life.
In this tutorial, we focus on the basic approach to curves and points and touch on how the data translates into geometry creation. Learning by doing is the best way to get started and making the experience seem seamless while acquiring the skill set to start using grasshopper and parametric tools is the aim. This exercise entails the creation of a timber pavilion made out of 100 curved ribs and showcasing how we can use curves to control a geometrical output.
