For Europeans who have grown up in the late 20th and 21st century, the EU has been a constant buzzword in society. It comes up so much in the news, on TV, on social media and in conversations with your weird EU-obsessed cousin that it is easy to become overwhelmed and confused by this seemingly exotic and grand institution.
