How you ever sat through an online presentation or lecture where the presenter was disorganized? Where their webcam was pointing at a book shelf and their microphone made it sound like they were in space?

I have experienced all of those and many more.

Since the COVID pandemic there has been an explosion of content being delivered using virtual conferencing software like Zoom and Teams. Unfortunately as this all happened so fast our skills haven't kept up and we've been playing catch up. When we were face to face in meeting rooms or classrooms we were able to move furniture around and place whatever we wanted on the walls. We can gain that ability back by using OBS Studio in conjunction with our video conferencing platform of choice.

OBS Studio is a free open broadcast software that puts us back in control of what our viewers experience in the virtual world. By increasing our production value we can gain and maintain interest and overall improve student outcomes.

During the course you will learn how to set up and use OBS Studio to create an experience for your viewers that you are in control of. You will learn to to create scenes, add sources, used the virtual camera, install virtual audio cables, add a webcam mask and much more.
