Learn how to draw and paint realistic Portraits

To begin with why do we do portraiture? To show other people who are interested that we can still achieve 'realism' even in this day and age with cellphone cameras and the like. Realism to me is a special gift. not many people can achieve it. It is also an art style that focuses on art pieces, especially portraits as they appear in real life. Portraits can tell nun about the person painted and what we see. Portraits often show not only what what a person looks like, but but the artist can also capture what they stand for. Portraits can tell how a person wants to be portrayed and capture the mood of the person.

In this cause I aim to teach you how to capture a likeness in a portrait painting, Analyse and create a good composition, How to examine the head's shape and proportions and mark out the correct places for the features on the face. I will teach you how to make best use of complementary colours and what they are and used for. I will teach you how to work well with colour and what colours and brushes to buy. The best colours to buy are yellow ochre, cadmium red light and dark hue, cadmium yellow light and dark hue, titanium white and a lot of it. It is the colour we use the most of. viridian green, and French ultramarine. I will be working in water-based oils because I have my pet birds in my studio. I shall then show you how to use these colours to use to mix together make realistic flesh tones in oil or acrylic paint. I will be working on an A3 canvas with a photo as my guide from the front view. You will also need some brushes, probably flat some flat brushes from 10 down and and some round brushes 10 down as it is a small canvas. For detail you need round brushes 1- 4/0. otherwise happy painting and I hope you enjoy the course course. I apologise in advance for the bird tweets. I have no where else to put my birds at the moment.
