Modern Percussive Guitar

Modern Percussive Guitar

WEEK 1: PERCUSSIVE BLUES

Most guitarists have no idea what the full potential of their guitar actually is. This week, you will learn a technique to spice up your playing and get that "phat" low-end sound.

WEEK 2: TWO-HANDED PERCUSSIVE FUNK

The funky slap technique is as dope as it gets. But the crazy thing is, you can apply this two-handed percussive technique to any genre. And THAT is how you create your own voice.

WEEK 3: THE JOHN MAYER TECHNIQUE

This week we get folky with a technique made popular by John Mayer. It's the Thumb and Hook Technique. This is where you learn to hold a steady percussive rhythm while you do a complex picking pattern at the same time.

WEEK 4: THUMPS & SNAPPING

Finally in week 4, we introduce thumping and snapping. This is one of the most unique and versatile techniques used by people like Tim Henson, Tosin Abasasi, and Victor Wooten. You'll never not use it after you learn it.
