This course will teach you the basics of TwinCAT 3 automation software and the fundamentals of how to program using Structured text programming language. The TwinCAT software system turns almost any PC-based system into a real-time control with multiple PLC, NC, CNC, and/or robotics runtime systems in a single package. TwinCAT is a future-oriented software platform for machine builders and system integrators.
By the end of this course, you will learn all the basics on how to start developing your own application using TwinCAT 3 software, we will first go through the user interface and system configuration of TwinCAT. Then we will move on to variable declarations, standard data types, and user-defined data types such as Arrays, Structures, and Enumerations. We will also go through some conditional statements like IF and CASE instructions, FOR loops, While loops, and Repeat-Until loops. Additionally, we will go through Programming objects and some standard libraries, and finally how to communicate with a Beckhoff PLC. Along the way, you'll get hands-on experience with programming concepts through examples, assignments, and some quizzes.
The course is for you if you're a newcomer interested in TwinCAT 3 PLC programming, Beckhoff Automation PLCs or if you may have had some exposure to TwinCAT 2 the previous automation software from Beckhoff, and want to learn how to use the new generation of TwinCAT. Happy learning.
