Ladder Safety

This programme is aligned to the registered SAQA Unit Standard: Monitor, report and make recommendations on the requirements applicable to permit to work systems in a working environment. Once completed successfully you will receive a certificate of competency for the relevant South Africa Qualifications Authority Unit Standard, accredited through the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

This course will cover the law and requirements of a health and safety representative, their roles and responsibilities and functions within the workplace and the health and safety committee

Once completed successfully you will receive a certificate of competency for the relevant South Africa Qualifications Authority Unit Standard, accredited through the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

Throughout this course you will discover:

• The law pertaining to dangerous goods

• What is classified as dangerous goods

• How to know read and understand each dangerous goods material safety data sheet

• How to read trem cards

• How to store dangerous goods

• How to transport dangerous goods within the workplace

• What to do in the event of an emergency involving dangerous goods

Please note that before a learner proceeds on this learning programme, he/she should meet the following requirements as per

the relevant unit standard (please refer next page):

Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 3

Unit Standard: Respond to, implement and manage emergencies according to an emergency action plan in a workplace: SAQA ID

Unit Standard: Demonstrate knowledge pertaining to fires in working places; SAQ ID 120331

The learner will understand the dangers surrounding improper use of ladder.
