Setting the Foundation for Effective Leadership

My name is Brett Morgan and I come from a background in law enforcement.  My career allowed me to be in positions of leadership for the last 22 of my my 25 year career.  Since retiring from law enforcement I have lead teams in the private sector, taught law enforcement courses, college courses, as well as leadership. I am recognized as a subject matter expert, and certified instructor through TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement). This course is a result of my leadership training, my mentorship, and especially my personal experience leading teams of police officers in a variety of situations.  My style of leadership is based on that of servant leadership.  Leadership is influence, and if you are a leader, then you have followers, who have given you permission to lead them.  This course will discuss specific topics of leadership.  We will talk about the difference between leadership and management,  and the need for effective leadership.   Above all else leadership is influence, and that is important because your influence can have positive outcomes or negative, even destructive results.  So this course  is designed to provide you with the tools to be an effective and influential leader.  We will discuss some tools you can apply to set yourself up for leadership positions, some steps to help you become a more self disciplined and non corruptible  leader.
