Get Going With Van Gogh Elementary Drawing Classes

During this course students will learn about five artists: Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso , Claude Monet, Georgia O'Keeffe and Leonardo Da Vinci. During each class students will have a brief introduction to the artist. This will be followed by a drawing lesson in which students will draw a rendition of the artist's most important painting. FOR EXAMPLE, Vincent Van Gogh’s painting of “The Starry Night” will be drawn in the first class. Students will develop a drawing in 5 progressive steps. They will learn that drawings can also be broken down into 5 basic steps. During the second half of class, students will learn basic coloring techniques. Coloring is an important part of the drawing! Your child will be inspired by the use of light and color in their completed masterpiece! Never again will they look at color and sunshine in the same way! After the drawing I may read a short story to compliment the lesson! It is my hope that I can instill a love for drawing as well as a sense of confidence in your young artist. The cognitive skills that they master when drawing can also be used when learning at school. In the materials section you will find everything you will need for this exciting course!
