OM Meditation based on Mandukya Upnisad
OM Meditation based on Mandukya Upnisad
There are many definitions of yoga and one of them is - "yoga chiita vritti nirodah" means yoga removes distractions of inner-self. When we do any meditation, our aim also is restrain vrittis. If we have to see this in everyday life what exactly it means.
It means - your aim is to be with an inner-self which has no distractions. Means you have complete control over it so if you are doing some work- you are doing that- nothing else comes to your mind. If you studying you are 100% in study, if you are playing you are 100% in play and if you cooking you are 100% in cooking. No past thoughts- no worries. This is when you are awake and not doing meditation, this is also called living in present.
When you start meditation, there any many questions -
shall I stop your thoughts or shall I let them come? Do need to put an effort? what shall be my state of mind?
What is OM and why OM? Why does OM pull me in?
What is the difference between relaxation and meditation?
What is the proper way to chant OM?
